Toray Sets 2050 Sustainability Vision and 2028 Profitability Targets in New Growth Strategy

Toray Industries ( (JP:3402) ) has issued an update.

Toray Industries has unveiled a refreshed long-term vision, TORAY VISION 2050, outlining its ambition to help create a world of circular resources, regenerated nature, shared prosperity and healthier, more comfortable lives. Supporting this, the company introduced its TORAY Challenges 2035 strategy, centered on capturing growth in next-generation markets, transforming business models, strengthening workplace competency and supply chain resilience, accelerating digital transformation and reinforcing human capital-focused management.

As the first execution phase, Toray launched its medium-term management program IGNITION 2028, covering April 2026 to March 2029 and aimed at reigniting growth through portfolio review, segment restructuring and concentrated investment in high-potential areas. Under IGNITION 2028, Toray targets fiscal 2028 revenue of ¥3 trillion, core operating income of ¥230 billion, and improved ROIC of about 7% and ROE of about 8%, framing the period as a key milestone toward higher returns around 2035 and positioning the group as a more competitive, sustainable enterprise.
