Toho Reshapes Top Management, Elevates IP and Digital Leadership

Toho Co., Ltd. announced a leadership reshuffle, with long-serving Representative Director and Chairperson Yoshishige Shimatani stepping down from his representative role at the May 2026 shareholders’ meeting to become a corporate adviser. Executive Vice President and board member Nobuyuki Tako, a company veteran since 1988 with extensive experience in group planning and management, will be promoted to Representative Director and Executive Vice President, signaling continuity in the company’s strategic direction.

The board also plans to strengthen oversight of its core intellectual property and anime operations by nominating Senior Managing Executive Officer Keiji Ota, who oversees the IP & Anime Group and the Godzilla and licensing businesses, as a new director.
