TMT Investments ( (GB:TMT) ) has provided an announcement.
TMT Investments reported an 8.9% rise in net asset value per share to US$7.13 for 2025, driven by currency gains and strong performances from holdings such as Scentbird, Scale AI and Bolt, despite write‑downs in nine weaker investments and a subdued venture capital market. The firm realised US$5.5 million from disposals and dividends, executed a US$1.7 million share buyback to capitalise on a deep discount to NAV, and ended the year debt‑free with solid cash reserves, positioning it to pursue selective new deals and exits while navigating continued market volatility.
Portfolio revaluations were mixed, with seven companies marked up and several, including Backblaze and Qumata, written down under a conservative valuation policy, even as a Meta‑backed funding round for Scale AI sharply lifted that holding’s value and delivered additional cash returns. Management maintained a cautious investment pace, adding just two new companies and completing four investments in total, while signalling that the diversified portfolio and strong balance sheet should allow TMT to withstand ongoing macroeconomic and political uncertainty and potentially benefit from targeted opportunities in high‑quality tech, particularly AI, as conditions evolve.
The company also announced that its Annual General Meeting will be held on 19 May 2026 in St. Helier, Jersey, with its latest annual report and meeting materials to be made available on its website. Administrative expenses remained broadly flat year on year, reflecting muted new investment activity, and the long‑term internal rate of return since inception eased slightly to 14% per annum, underscoring steady, if moderating, performance over the firm’s history.
