Telefônica Brasil Moves Toward Service Authorization

Telefonica Brasil (VIV) has released an update.

Telefônica Brasil S.A. has announced that its Board of Directors approved the proposed terms for an agreement to transition its fixed telephone service from a concession to an authorization regime. The agreement includes the settlement of ongoing administrative and judicial proceedings, a commitment to public interest pledges over the next decade, and maintaining service in specific São Paulo locations until 2028. Final approval from the Federal Audit Court and the Federal General Solicitor is pending for the agreement to proceed.
