An update from Technology Minerals PLC ( (GB:TM1) ) is now available.

Technology Minerals’ affiliate Recyclus Group has joined a UK consortium with Watercycle Technologies, the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre and Polaron that has secured government-backed Battery Innovation Programme funding to develop a new lithium-ion battery recycling system. The ReCAM system aims to convert black mass from waste batteries into high-value cathode active materials for reuse in new UK-made batteries, cutting exports of black mass, strengthening the domestic supply chain and reducing emissions and dependency on overseas processors.

Under the project, Recyclus will host and support a pilot-scale ReCAM unit at its Wolverhampton plant, capable of processing 250kg of material per hour and enhanced by Polaron’s AI-driven process optimisation to reach battery-grade outputs quickly. Recyclus is set to receive around £400,000 from the grant, positioning Technology Minerals and its partners at the forefront of the UK’s push to build a circular battery ecosystem, bolster industrial resilience and capture more economic value from the transition to net zero.
