Tata Power Company Limited ( (IN:TATAPOWER) ) has shared an update.
Tata Power has completed all Extra High Voltage transmission lines and substations under the South East UP Power Transmission Company Limited project in Uttar Pradesh, capped by the commissioning of the 400 kV Tanda–Gonda and Gonda–Basti double-circuit lines. The SEUPPTCL network now includes three 765 kV lines, fourteen 400 kV lines, and three 765/400 kV substations, significantly expanding the state’s high-capacity grid backbone.
The newly commissioned corridors, together with earlier assets such as the 765 kV Mainpuri–Bara and Mainpuri–Unnao lines, will enable safe and reliable evacuation of over 4,000 MW of thermal power within Uttar Pradesh, bolstering grid stability and meeting growing electricity demand. With these 1,517 circuit kilometres now operational, Tata Power’s total transmission network has grown to 5,466 circuit kilometres, underscoring its strengthening role in resolving stressed power assets and modernising India’s high-voltage transmission infrastructure at a critical phase of economic expansion.
