TAG Oil ( (TSE:TAO) ) has shared an update.
TAG Oil outlined its 2026 work program in Egypt’s Western Desert, where it is preparing to drill the T-200 vertical well on the BED-1 concession targeting the Abu Roash F formation, interpreted from nearby wells to hold naturally fractured, high-quality light oil. Production at BED-1 averaged about 65 barrels of oil per day in the first quarter, and the company is moving to secure a drilling rig to bring additional output onstream in the second half of 2026.
On the SERQ concession, TAG Oil plans a Diagnostic Fracture Injectivity Test on the Abu Roash F interval to gauge reservoir characteristics that may be unconventional and, if results are encouraging, is considering a new vertical well in the fourth quarter to assess commercial potential. Management says funding for 2026 activities is in place and is also pursuing partnership opportunities with industry players, signaling a bid to scale up its Egyptian operations and support longer-term growth in the region.
Spark’s Take on TAO Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, TAO is a Neutral.
The score is primarily held back by very weak operating performance and cash flow (losses and ongoing cash burn). A low-leverage balance sheet provides some offset by improving financial flexibility, while technicals are neutral-to-slightly improving and valuation is constrained by a negative P/E.
