Synopsys Initiates Merger Agreement to Acquire Ansys

Synopsys (SNPS) has shared an update.

Synopsys, Inc. has entered into a Merger Agreement to acquire Ansys, Inc., with the latter set to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Synopsys. Despite being below China’s notification thresholds, Synopsys was advised to notify Chinese regulators and has submitted the required notification. The deal is expected to conclude in the first half of 2025, contingent on obtaining necessary regulatory approvals and fulfilling customary closing conditions.
