Swiss Re Group, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, is a global leader in reinsurance and insurance-based risk transfer, providing solutions to manage risks from natural catastrophes to cybercrime.
In its latest earnings report, Swiss Re announced a net income of USD 4.0 billion for the first nine months of 2025, showcasing a robust financial performance driven by strong underwriting results and solid investment returns.
The Property & Casualty Reinsurance segment reported a significant net income increase to USD 2.3 billion, benefiting from low natural catastrophe losses and disciplined underwriting, achieving a combined ratio of 77.6%. Corporate Solutions also delivered a strong performance with a net income of USD 693 million, supported by a solid underwriting result and lower-than-expected catastrophe claims. Meanwhile, the Life & Health Reinsurance segment reported a net income of USD 1.1 billion, slightly below the previous year, due to assumption strengthening for underperforming portfolios.
Swiss Re’s return on investments improved to 4.1%, driven by higher recurring income and realized gains. The Group’s capital position remains strong with a Swiss Solvency Test ratio of 268%, well above the target range.
Looking ahead, Swiss Re’s management remains optimistic about meeting its net income target of over USD 4.4 billion for the full year, focusing on increasing resilience and maintaining cost discipline across its business units.
