Swelect Energy Systems Limited has commissioned a 5 MW solar power plant at Perumpoondi and Nedumpirai villages in Cheyyar Taluk, Tiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu, connecting it to the Sirungattur TANTRANSCO substation at the 110 kV level. The plant’s output will be supplied to the Airports Authority of India’s Chennai Airport under a third-party power sale model via intra-state open access.
With this commissioning, Swelect has completed a total of 10 MW of solar capacity for the Airports Authority of India project, strengthening its role as a clean energy provider to critical infrastructure. The expansion underscores the company’s growing footprint in Tamil Nadu’s renewable power market and highlights rising adoption of open-access solar solutions by major public-sector entities.
