Sun Silver Reports Standout Metallurgical Recoveries at Maverick Springs

Sun Silver Ltd. ( (AU:SS1) ) just unveiled an update.

Sun Silver reported exceptional metallurgical results from recent testwork at its Maverick Springs silver-gold project in Nevada, with intermittent bottle roll cyanide leach tests on coarse-crush material indicating silver recoveries averaging 77% and gold recoveries averaging 74% under early-stage heap leach conditions. The company said these outcomes demonstrate non-refractory, non-preg-robbing ore and underpin a de-risked, scalable, low-capital heap leach development option.

Complementary cyanide leach tests at finer grind sizes delivered even higher recoveries, with silver averaging 87.25% and gold 82.15%, while an independent review confirmed that extended leach durations enhance silver recoveries, consistent with its slower kinetics. Management highlighted that these recoveries compare favourably with benchmark heap leach performance at Nevada’s Rochester silver mine and noted that reducing chlorides in process water via reverse osmosis could further improve recoveries, strengthening the project’s competitiveness and potential returns for stakeholders.
