Star Entertainment Grapples with Compliance Issues

Star Entertainment Group Limited (AU:SGR) has released an update.

The Star Entertainment Group is facing scrutiny as the New South Wales Independent Casino Commission (NICC) issued a ‘show cause’ notice in response to compliance failures identified in the Bell Two Report, which examined the company’s adherence to casino operations and control laws. The report highlights multiple violations by The Star related to anti-money laundering, customer probity, and responsible gambling between June 2023 and July 2024. The Star is currently preparing a response to the NICC’s notice and requests, while also engaging with stakeholders to review its financial position and remediation plan.
