Standard Chartered ( (GB:STAN) ) has provided an announcement.
Standard Chartered has appointed Peter Burrill as interim Group Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Diego De Giorgi, who has stepped down immediately to pursue an external opportunity. Burrill, currently Group Head of Central Finance and Deputy CFO, will be based in London and report to Group Chief Executive Bill Winters.
The bank issued a clarification in Hong Kong correcting a typographical error in its earlier appointment announcement, affirming that Burrill has extensive sectoral experience. The move underscores an emphasis on continuity and stability in the finance function, as Burrill’s long tenure at the bank and prior senior roles at Deutsche Bank and KPMG position him to maintain strategic momentum during the transition.
