An update from Standard Chartered ( (GB:STAN) ) is now available.

Standard Chartered has continued executing its previously announced share buy-back programme, repurchasing 860,611 ordinary shares on 14 April 2026 across the London Stock Exchange and CBOE venues at a volume-weighted average price of about 1,746.6 pence. The bank has now applied over US$573 million to this buy-back and plans to cancel the repurchased shares, reducing the share count to 2,226,621,310 and thereby marginally increasing remaining shareholders’ ownership stakes and voting power.

The cancellations will leave Standard Chartered with an equivalent number of voting rights outstanding, aligning capital management with its strategy of returning surplus capital to investors. By tightening its share base through market purchases within preset regulatory parameters, the group signals confidence in its financial position and supports earnings per share over time, a move likely to be welcomed by equity investors tracking capital returns among global banks.

The most recent analyst rating on (GB:STAN) stock is a Buy with a £2000.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Standard Chartered stock, see the GB:STAN Stock Forecast page.
