Peak Minerals Ltd. ( (TSE:SRAN) ) has provided an announcement.
Sranan Gold has secured an option to acquire up to a 100% interest in the 18,468-hectare Lawantino Gold Property in southeastern Suriname, expanding its land position to 47,500 hectares along the Central Guiana Shear Zone. The project lies on the same regional structure as Founders Metals’ Antino and Miata Metals’ Sela Creek assets and shows extensive artisanal alluvial mining with early rock sampling returning notable gold grades.
The company plans a rapid, systematic exploration program integrating artisanal workings, satellite interpretation, mapping, geochemistry and structural analysis to define trenching and drilling targets. Under the five-year earn-in, Sranan will pay US$1.9 million in cash, issue 1.8 million shares and spend US$1.7 million on exploration to earn 90%, while the vendor retains a 10% stake and a 2% NSR that Sranan can buy back, positioning the deal as a strategic step in consolidating a prospective gold corridor in Suriname.
