SPDR Gold Shares ( (GLD) ) just unveiled an update.

SPDR Gold Trust, which offers the SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) backed by physical bullion, reported a sharp increase in assets for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, as rising gold prices and additional share issuance pushed investments in gold to about $155 billion and net assets to roughly $155.1 billion. The trust’s net asset value per share climbed to $423.34 from $352.09 at fiscal year-end, while higher gold values drove net gains on gold of over $26 billion in the first six months of the fiscal year despite a higher sponsor fee burden, signaling robust investor demand for gold exposure and reinforcing GLD’s position as a leading vehicle in the gold investment market.
