The latest update is out from S&P Global ( (SPGI) ).

On May 18, 2026, S&P Global announced that Mobility Global, the newly created holding company for its Mobility division, has launched a $2 billion private offering of senior notes maturing in 2029, 2031 and 2036, alongside securing a $500 million senior unsecured revolving credit facility. The move is part of S&P Global’s planned spin-off of the Mobility business, positioning Mobility Global with its own capital structure and liquidity as it prepares to operate as a standalone public company.

Following completion of the separation, Mobility Global plans to use the net proceeds from the notes to make a cash payment to S&P Global in exchange for transferred assets, liabilities and entities, with any remaining funds earmarked for fees, expenses and general corporate purposes. Proceeds will be held in escrow until certain separation-related conditions are met, underscoring the transaction’s role in funding the carve-out while preserving protections for noteholders and clarifying financial flows between S&P Global and the new Mobility entity.

The most recent analyst rating on (SPGI) stock is a Buy with a $495.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on S&P Global stock, see the SPGI Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on SPGI Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, SPGI is a Outperform.

The score is driven primarily by strong financial performance (high margins and strong free-cash-flow conversion) and supportive earnings-call guidance with solid Q1 execution. These positives are partially offset by weak technicals (price below key moving averages and negative momentum) and only moderate valuation support given a mid-20s P/E and low dividend yield.
