Sorrento Resources Ltd. ( (TSE:SRS) ) has issued an announcement.
Sorrento Resources Ltd. reported strong progress at its Bottom Brook rare earth project in Newfoundland and Labrador, where it has completed six diamond drill holes totaling over 1,000 metres and expanded the program to ten holes and roughly 1,500 metres. The program is targeting extensions of known mineralization along strike and at different depths, including twin holes on historic high-grade TREO intercepts that will provide core for metallurgical testing, an important step in assessing the project’s development potential.
The Bottom Brook property covers 15,150 hectares across 16 mineral licenses near Corner Brook, benefiting from road access, a nearby deep-water port, and a transmission line crossing the western portion of the project. Historical drilling has returned multiple high-grade rare earth oxide intersections, and the monazite-enriched mineralization has been compared by experts to world-class deposits such as Bayan Obo in China and Steenkampskraal in South Africa, underscoring the project’s potential strategic significance in the global rare earth supply chain.
