The latest announcement is out from Smartoptics Group AS ( (DE:3YL) ).
Smartoptics has supplied its active DWDM technology to TKRZ Stadtwerke GmbH, enabling the German regional ISP and data center operator to upgrade its entire backbone network and support higher-capacity Ethernet and Fibre Channel services on a single low-latency, redundant platform. The deployment, which underpins TKRZ’s consolidation of two facilities into the new Datacenter Münster Osnabrück and extends high-speed connectivity from Hamburg to Frankfurt, strengthens Smartoptics’ position in regional open networking while helping TKRZ position itself as the digital backbone of the Münster-Osnabrück area with near-unlimited capacity and carrier-neutral colocation services that rival larger metro hubs.
