Skanska, in joint venture with Traylor Bros. and Walsh Construction, has secured a major role in the USD 1.29 billion Hudson Tunnel Project’s Package 1C in New York, with Skanska’s share valued at USD 363 million, about SEK 3.4 billion, to be booked in the second quarter of 2026. The contract covers the construction of two new single-track passenger rail tunnel tubes beneath the Hudson River, including tunnel lining, floors, cross passages, ground stabilization near the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, and underpinning of the Willow Avenue Bridge, underscoring Skanska’s position in large U.S. infrastructure and rail projects and expanding its American order backlog.
