Skanska AB ( ($SE:SKA.B) ) has provided an announcement.
Skanska has secured a SEK 440 million contract from Halmstad Municipality to build a new civil engineering high school with an integrated sports hall in Halmstad, Sweden. The 16,000-square-meter facility will host about 590 students and provide both theoretical and practical teaching spaces, with construction set to begin in April and completion targeted for the 2028 fall semester.
The project underscores Skanska’s strategic focus on sustainable construction, as it plans to reuse HD/F and bricks and prioritize measures that reduce the building’s climate impact. The order will be recognized in Skanska’s Swedish operations for the first quarter of 2026, reinforcing its position in the Nordic education infrastructure segment and adding to its long-term portfolio of environmentally focused public projects.
