The latest update is out from Sk Telecom ( (SKM) ).

SK Telecom reported preliminary consolidated and separate results for the first quarter of 2026, covering the period from January 1 to March 31, 2026. The disclosure, released on May 7, 2026 for analysts and investors, provides an early view of earnings ahead of final audited figures.

On a consolidated basis, first-quarter 2026 operating revenue was 4.3923 trillion won, up 1.47% from the fourth quarter of 2025 but down 1.38% year-on-year, while operating income surged sequentially to 537.6 billion won from 119.1 billion won yet slipped 5.25% versus a year earlier. Profit for the period attributable to controlling interests jumped sharply quarter-on-quarter to 322.4 billion won from 112.5 billion won, though it declined 11.53% compared with the first quarter of 2025, indicating a strong rebound from a weak prior quarter but a still softer profit profile than a year ago.

On a separate (parent-only) basis, first-quarter 2026 operating revenue was 3.1058 trillion won, slightly higher than the previous quarter but 1.95% below the same period last year. Separate operating income more than tripled quarter-on-quarter to 409.5 billion won, yet fell 15.10% year-on-year, while profit for the period rose more than threefold versus the fourth quarter to 332.7 billion won but was down 29.90% from a year earlier, underscoring a recovery in core telecom operations from late-2025 levels but continued pressure relative to 2025’s strong first quarter.

Spark’s Take on SKM Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, SKM is a Neutral.

The score is held back primarily by the sharp profitability and return deterioration and a cautious earnings-call outlook tied to cybersecurity incident impacts and dividend reduction. These risks are partially offset by strong cash generation, manageable leverage, and a bullish technical trend (though currently overbought), while valuation is only moderately supportive given a ~27 P/E and ~2.7% yield.
