An update from Quetzal Copper Corp ( (TSE:SICO) ) is now available.
Silverco Mining Ltd. reported that Nuevo Silver Inc. has completed the purchase of the producing La Negra silver mine in Querétaro, Mexico, advancing a previously announced transaction under which Silverco plans to acquire Nuevo Silver. The move would add an operating mine to Silverco’s existing Mexican asset base if the deal proceeds, potentially transforming the company’s production profile and regional scale.
Silverco and Nuevo Silver are now working toward a definitive acquisition agreement and the satisfaction of key conditions, including Silverco’s due diligence, board approval and conditional approval from the TSX Venture Exchange. Successful completion would diversify Silverco beyond its Cusi Project in Chihuahua and could strengthen its position in the Mexican silver sector, though the transaction remains subject to approvals and internal assessments.
The Company’s flagship Cusi Project, a past-producing underground silver-lead-zinc-gold operation in Chihuahua State, is supported by a 1,200 tonne-per-day mill with tailings capacity and strong local infrastructure. Cusi hosts several historical Ag-Au-Pb-Zn mines along multiple vein structures and offers notable exploration upside, including a newly identified downthrown mineralized block and further potential through claim consolidation.
More about Quetzal Copper Corp
Silverco Mining Ltd. is a Canadian precious metals company focused on silver and polymetallic assets in Mexico. It owns a 100% interest in the 11,665-hectare Cusi Project in Chihuahua State, a past-producing underground silver-lead-zinc-gold property on the Sierra Madre Occidental belt, supported by a 1,200 tonne-per-day mill, tailings capacity, paved highway access, grid power and multiple historical mines with significant exploration targets.
The Cusi Property’s multiple vein-hosted deposits and underexplored extensions position Silverco as a junior producer with both brownfield production potential and upside from further discovery. Its existing infrastructure and claim consolidation opportunities could lower development hurdles and support future expansion once market and corporate conditions allow.
