Singapore Exchange ( (SG:S68) ) just unveiled an update.
Singapore Exchange Group started 2026 with a sharp pickup in trading and capital markets activity, underscoring its role as a regional hub for equities and derivatives. Turnover in the stock market jumped 66% year-on-year in January to S$34.6 billion, while derivatives volumes across equities, FX and commodities reached their highest level since March 2020 on the back of strong institutional demand.
Trading interest broadened beyond benchmark names as more stocks crossed S$1 million in daily turnover and institutions bought both index and small- to mid-cap counters, aided by the launch of the Value Unlock programme and a 5.6% rise in the Straits Times Index. Capital raising also accelerated with two new Catalist listings, a Mainboard secondary listing and secondary fundraising of S$963 million, while ETF turnover and assets hit record highs and demand for SGX’s China-linked futures surged, reinforcing the bourse’s franchise in passive products and China equity access.
