Sembcorp Halts Myanmar Plant Operations Amid Unrest

Sembcorp Industries (SG:U96) has released an update.

Sembcorp Industries has announced a temporary halt to operations at its 225MW Myingyan gas-fired power plant in Myanmar due to increasing civil unrest in the region, prioritizing employee safety and securing the facility. The company has received approval for the shutdown from Myanmar’s Electric Power Generation Enterprise and is maintaining insurance coverage for the plant. Sembcorp has committed to resuming operations when it is safe to do so and will keep stakeholders updated on the situation.
