Sembcorp Industries has successfully expanded its renewable energy footprint in Vietnam with the acquisition of a 196MW wind and solar portfolio, as part of a broader deal with GELEX Group Joint Stock Company. Once the deal is fully completed, including the anticipated addition of a 49MW hydropower asset, Sembcorp’s renewable capacity in Vietnam will reach 455MW, contributing to its global capacity of 14.4GW. The finalization of the hydropower asset purchase is expected in the latter half of 2024, pending regulatory approvals.
