SECOS Group Ltd is challenging the Draft Victorian Household Waste and Recycling Service Standard 2024, which recommends banning compostable bioplastic caddy liners, arguing that such a ban would hinder Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) programs and worsen environmental outcomes. The company has been actively advocating for the acceptance of these compostable liners, engaging with government officials and the public through media coverage and an online petition. SECOS is committed to sustainable waste management and is awaiting the government’s review of the feedback before the final standard is published later in the year.
