Sandvik AB ( (SE:SAND) ) has shared an update.

Sandvik has acquired an 80% stake in Montreal-based K&Y Diamond, a specialist in monocrystalline diamond tools used for ultra-precision applications, particularly in the optics market for products such as spectacle lenses, contact lenses and optronic components. K&Y Diamond, which posted around SEK 120 million in revenue in 2025 with a strong EBITA margin, will be integrated into the Sandvik Coromant division, slightly boosting Sandvik’s EBITA margin and earnings per share while strengthening its strategic push into the fast-growing micro-precision tools segment.

The deal, whose purchase price was not disclosed, also extends Sandvik’s reach into high-specification sectors including aerospace and medical, where demand for super-finishing is rising. By adding K&Y Diamond’s advanced technology and engineering capabilities, Sandvik aims to consolidate its position in ultra-precision tooling and deepen its presence in niche, high-value manufacturing markets, potentially enhancing its competitive profile and value proposition to customers in optical and other precision-driven industries.

The most recent analyst rating on (SE:SAND) stock is a Sell with a SEK325.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Sandvik AB stock, see the SE:SAND Stock Forecast page.
