The latest update is out from Salazar Resources ( (TSE:SRL) ).
Salazar Resources has designated its 100%-owned Monja copper-gold project in Ecuador’s Loja Province as a cornerstone asset after baseline geological work across its portfolio highlighted the property’s potential. The project spans 9,088 hectares over two licenses within a prolific Paleocene-Miocene metallogenic belt that hosts several major copper deposits in southern Ecuador and northern Peru.
Fieldwork at Monja has outlined a two-kilometer by one-kilometer copper-gold porphyry core, with surface mapping and sampling revealing hydrothermal breccias, quartz-sulphide stockworks, and locally bornite and tourmaline breccias, all indicative of a fertile porphyry system. Selective rock chip samples returned elevated copper, gold, and silver values, including one sample grading 4.77% copper and 1.12 g/t gold, prompting Salazar to plan a high-impact mapping, sampling, and ground geophysics program to refine drill targets and advance this early-stage project.
The Monja concession benefits from year-round access and sits near notable deposits and projects such as Tambo Grande and Rio Blanco in Peru and the Bramaderos project in Ecuador, underscoring its strategic location within a proven mineralized corridor. By concentrating resources on Monja while continuing to advance its broader Ecuadorian portfolio, Salazar is positioning itself to capitalize on a promising greenfields discovery that could enhance its exploration pipeline and future growth prospects for stakeholders.
The most recent analyst rating on (TSE:SRL) stock is a Sell with a C$0.18 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Salazar Resources stock, see the TSE:SRL Stock Forecast page.
Spark’s Take on SRL Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, SRL is a Neutral.
The score is held down primarily by weak financial performance (no revenue, recurring losses, and persistent negative free cash flow), with additional pressure from bearish technical signals and an unattractive P/E. A debt-free balance sheet and mixed corporate updates (asset consolidation offset by El Domo cost/timeline slippage) provide only limited support.
