Rottneros AB ( (SE:RROS) ) has issued an update.
Rottneros warns that its EBITDA for the fourth quarter of 2025 will fall sharply to a preliminary SEK -180 million from SEK 10 million a year earlier, as weak global pulp markets, lower USD-denominated pulp prices, and a weaker dollar eroded prices and margins in Swedish kronor. Inventory valuation effects of roughly SEK 30 million and the planned annual maintenance shutdown at the Vallvik Mill further weighed on earnings, while lower wood raw material prices provided only limited relief. The company’s cost-savings programme, launched in spring 2025, is now having almost full effect and is expected to reduce the annual cost base by about SEK 45 million, exceeding earlier targets, offering some structural mitigation to the deteriorating market environment ahead of the year-end report due in February 2026.
