Queensland Pacific Metals Ltd’s subsidiary, QPM Energy, has secured a $3 million grant from the Queensland State Government for its Frontier Gas Exploration program, aimed at assessing potential gas reserves in the Fort Cooper Coal Measures. This funding will support the drilling of new wells to tap into high gas content layers currently not utilized, with the prospect of significantly boosting gas production and improving economic returns from the Moranbah Gas Project. The trial’s success could revolutionize gas extraction in coal mining by converting gas from a waste product into a valuable resource, while also reducing carbon emissions.
