QEM Limited has announced a breakthrough in recycling industrial waste into high-purity vanadium pentoxide (V2O5), essential for vanadium flow batteries used in energy storage. The University of Queensland successfully developed a method to extract 99.93% pure V2O5, setting the stage for further optimization and pilot-scale work. This innovation not only advances QEM’s capabilities in vanadium beneficiation for their Julia Creek Project but also enhances their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) profile by contributing to a circular economy.
