The company operates in the sports and lifestyle sectors, offering products in categories such as Football, Running, Basketball, and Golf, and collaborates with designers to blend sport influences into street culture and fashion.

In the first quarter of 2025, PUMA reported flat currency-adjusted sales, maintaining last year’s sales level at €2,076 million. The company highlighted its ongoing nextlevel cost efficiency program and announced leadership changes with Arthur Hoeld set to become CEO in July 2025.

Key financial metrics showed a slight increase in currency-adjusted sales by 0.1%, while the gross profit margin decreased by 60 basis points to 47.0%. Operating expenses rose by 7.1% due to investments in the Direct-to-Consumer business, particularly e-commerce. Adjusted EBIT excluding one-time costs fell by 52.4% to €76 million. The company also reported a significant decrease in net income to €0.5 million from €87.3 million in the previous year.

PUMA’s strategic focus remains on executing its cost efficiency program, which includes reducing staff positions and optimizing retail operations. The company anticipates currency-adjusted sales growth in the low- to mid-single-digit percentage range for the full year 2025, with an adjusted EBIT expected between €520 million and €600 million.

Looking ahead, PUMA is committed to navigating the volatile global trade environment by focusing on controllable factors and maintaining its investment in brand and infrastructure. The company aims to continue its growth trajectory while managing market uncertainties, including potential impacts from U.S. tariffs.
