Prospex Oil and Gas ( (GB:PXEN) ) has shared an announcement.

Prospex Energy has appointed veteran energy banker Simon Ashby-Rudd as a non-executive director, reinforcing its board with more than three decades of capital markets and strategic advisory experience in the global energy sector. Ashby-Rudd, who also sits on the board of Europa Oil & Gas, is expected to support Prospex’s refocused strategy on net value impact and non-dilutive shareholder value creation, including access to capital to strengthen its European gas and power asset base.

At the same time, existing non-executive director Andrew Hay will step down at the company’s June 2026 AGM after serving since 2023 and chairing the audit committee. The transition underscores an ongoing board refresh under chair Bill Smith and CEO Tom Reynolds, aimed at positioning Prospex for growth through acquisitions and sales while maintaining strong governance and financial oversight for investors.

The score is held down primarily by weak financial fundamentals—persistent operating losses and multi-year negative operating/free cash flow—despite a relatively low-debt balance sheet. Technicals also lean negative with the price below key moving averages and a negative MACD, while valuation is pressured by a very high P/E and no reported dividend yield.
