PowerBank Steps Into Space Infrastructure With Investment in Orbit AI

PowerBank Corporation has made a US$500,000 strategic investment in Orbit AI following the successful “Orbit AI Genesis” satellite mission, which demonstrated the viability of an orbital cloud integrating on-orbit blockchain validation with AI inference computing. The deal includes an option for PowerBank to invest an additional US$500,000 within 12 months, positioning the solar and digital infrastructure specialist as an early energy and technology partner in Orbit AI’s planned 5,000-satellite constellation by 2030.

By backing Orbit AI’s space-based AI and communications platform, PowerBank is moving into a projected US$700 billion-plus market spanning satellite communications, AI infrastructure and blockchain-enabled orbital services. The collaboration is expected to see PowerBank contribute solar power systems and thermal management solutions to future missions, aligning the company with a bid to deliver lower-cost, energy-efficient alternatives to terrestrial AI data centers, though the release also notes a related-party connection between PowerBank’s CEO and Orbit AI’s CFO.
