Petroleo Brasileiro SA- Petrobras ( (PBR) ) has issued an update.

Petrobras reported unaudited condensed consolidated interim financial statements for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, showing total assets of $238.7 billion, up from $222.3 billion at year-end 2025, driven mainly by higher property, plant and equipment and increased inventories. Equity attributable to shareholders rose to $85.3 billion from $75.6 billion, reflecting retained earnings and a reduction in accumulated other comprehensive losses, while total liabilities reached $153.2 billion, including sizable lease obligations, finance debt and decommissioning provisions.

For the first quarter of 2026, Petrobras posted sales revenues of $23.5 billion, compared with $21.1 billion in the same period of 2025, lifting gross profit to $11.3 billion as cost of sales also increased. The results highlight continued deleveraging progress alongside a heavy structural burden of long-term decommissioning, legal and employee benefit obligations, factors that remain central to the company’s capital allocation, dividend capacity and risk profile for creditors and shareholders.

The most recent analyst rating on (PBR) stock is a Buy with a $24.80 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Petroleo Brasileiro SA- Petrobras stock, see the PBR Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on PBR Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, PBR is a Outperform.

The score is driven primarily by solid financial performance (strong margins and cash generation, though cyclical and less robust than peak years) and strong technical trend signals despite overbought momentum risk. Valuation is a major positive with a very low P/E and high dividend yield, while the earnings call supports the outlook via operational execution but flags key risks from oil-price exposure (no hedging) and elevated debt/leasing obligations.
