The latest announcement is out from Paltac ( (JP:8283) ).
Paltac will construct a new next-generation distribution center, provisionally named RDC Kaizuka, in Kaizuka City, Osaka Prefecture on company-owned land, with operations slated to start in March 2030. The ¥34.9 billion facility is designed to further evolve the company’s SPAID logistics model by integrating advanced AI, robotics, and virtual simulations to greatly enhance productivity and long-term operational efficiency.
The center aims to double labor productivity in piece picking compared with the current SPAID model, introduce near full automation for certain early morning and nighttime processes, and create a more worker-friendly environment. It will also be designed to accommodate solar power generation, supporting environmental sustainability, while the company expects minimal impact on current-year results as the financial benefits will materialize over the longer term through a more resilient, efficient logistics infrastructure.
