Orla Mining Seeks Arbitration Against Panama

Orla Mining (TSE:OLA) has released an update.

Orla Mining Ltd. has filed a Request for Arbitration against the Government of Panama, seeking at least $400 million in damages for alleged violations of the Canada-Panama Free Trade Agreement related to the Cerro Quema Project. The arbitration process, to be administered by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, comes after unsuccessful attempts to amicably resolve the dispute. Orla emphasizes its preference for a constructive resolution that benefits all stakeholders, highlighting the project’s potential socio-economic contributions to Panama.
