Oriole Resources PLC ( (GB:ORR) ) has issued an update.
Oriole Resources has reported a maiden JORC-compliant Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate for the MB01-N deposit at its 50%-owned Mbe gold project in Cameroon, outlining 10.5 million tonnes at 1.05 grams per tonne for 360,000 ounces of contained gold within a US$3,200 per ounce pit shell. Combined with the previously announced MB01-S resource of 870,000 ounces, Mbe now hosts a total Inferred resource of 1.23 million ounces of gold, with both deposits remaining open in all directions and supported by additional satellite targets across the licence.
The company has begun a 10-hole, 2,500-metre step-out diamond drilling programme at MB01-S aimed at expanding the existing resource later this year, underscoring management’s belief that there is strong potential to significantly increase cumulative resources at Mbe. Management highlights that surpassing the one-million-ounce threshold reinforces Mbe’s status as Cameroon’s leading gold project and positions it to compare favourably with other major open-pit gold discoveries in Africa, though further exploration, technical and environmental studies are required before any conversion to reserves or development decisions.
