OCI Global Divests Methanol Business for $2.05 Billion

OCI N.V. (GB:0QGH) has released an update.

OCI Global has agreed to sell its Global Methanol Business to Methanex Corporation for USD 2.05 billion, with payment including cash and shares, making OCI an approximate 13% shareholder in Methanex. The deal, which includes OCI Methanol’s US and European assets, is set to close in the first half of 2025 pending regulatory and shareholder approvals. The sale is part of OCI’s broader divestiture strategy, expected to generate USD 11.6 billion in proceeds, aimed at reducing debt and returning capital to shareholders.
