OceanaGold ( (TSE:OGC) ) has issued an announcement.

OceanaGold has reported strong drilling results from six holes at its Wharekirauponga prospect, about 10 kilometres north of the Waihi operation in New Zealand, confirming the continuity and extension of a newly defined southern high-grade gold zone. The intercepts from the East Graben vein and adjacent hanging wall and footwall structures sit largely outside current reserves and in some cases outside the existing resource model, potentially supporting future resource growth.

Management highlighted that the emerging high-grade zone lies closer to the planned underground access, which could enhance project economics if developed. With three drill rigs currently operating and two more expected in the second quarter under a recently approved permit, the 2026 program is geared toward upgrading resource confidence and pursuing open extensions, underscoring Wharekirauponga’s role as a key growth driver in OceanaGold’s portfolio.

The most recent analyst rating on (TSE:OGC) stock is a Buy with a C$72.50 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on OceanaGold stock, see the TSE:OGC Stock Forecast page.
