Ocean Sun AS ( (DE:OW7) ) just unveiled an announcement.
Ocean Sun has secured NOK 8 million in public funding for its EROS project, an industrial innovation initiative running from 2026 to 2029 to enhance the long-term performance and reliability of its floating solar systems. Working with the Institute for Energy Technology, the company will study environmental stressors such as waves, moisture, salinity and soiling, and test and optimize its automated cleaning system.
The project is expected to deliver improved tools for assessing new PV module types, modelling environmental loads and integrating mitigation measures into system design and operations. These outcomes should support future product development and bolster Ocean Sun’s competitiveness in more exposed sites, while also advancing IFE’s research in floating PV testing protocols, accelerated degradation studies and modelling.
