Nuburu ( (BURU) ) has shared an update.
On February 26, 2026, Nuburu and Maddox Defense Incorporated entered into a contractual joint venture to develop a modular, containerized, mobile additive manufacturing platform for producing drone components, pods and mission-critical structural parts for defense and security uses. The program’s Phase I covers development of the first fully operating container at Maddox’s U.S. facility, funded by Nuburu with up to $4 million plus a 10% governance allocation, overseen by a four-person Steering Committee until the system passes testing and is certified as market-ready.
In Phase II, the parties will form a new entity, owned 60% by Nuburu and 40% by Maddox, which will exclusively handle production and sales, with all distributable profits initially flowing to Nuburu until its reimbursable investment is repaid and Maddox’s equity pledged as security. The structure positions Nuburu as majority owner and primary commercial lead in EU and NATO territories, with Maddox leading U.S. engagement, potentially strengthening both firms’ access to U.S. and European defense procurement channels under a framework that includes standard governance, renewal and termination provisions.
