Norske Skog ASA ( (DE:0BQ) ) has issued an announcement.

Norske Skog Saugbrugs has signed a letter of intent with data center operator Green Mountain to explore establishing a data center at its industrial property in Halden, Norway, leveraging the site’s infrastructure and unique attributes for digital services. The initiative follows the launch of a zoning process to permit data center operations at the site and will involve cooperation with the municipality and local stakeholders to complete regulatory requirements.

The proposed data center is positioned as a potential driver of local economic growth through increased investment, value creation, and job creation in the Halden region. In parallel, Norske Skog continues to assess a possible conversion of its PM6 machine at Saugbrugs for SC magazine paper and kraftliner production, signaling a broader strategic review of the mill’s future industrial configuration, with financial advisor ABG Sundal Collier supporting the process.
