Nittetsu Mining Co., Ltd. has inaugurated the third vertical shaft at its Torigatayama Quarry Complex, a key limestone mine in Kochi Prefecture, to enhance long-term mineral supply sustainability. The shaft is part of a 20 billion yen, 7-year project that has faced delays but is crucial to the company’s 10-year growth strategy, which includes boosting mine earnings and developing an optimal production network for both domestic use and global export.
