Nippon Shokubai Expands SAP Plant in Indonesia

Nippon Shokubai Co., Ltd. (JP:4114) has released an update.

Nippon Shokubai Co., Ltd. has announced an investment in its Indonesian subsidiary to expand its Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP) production by 50,000 metric tons annually, bringing the total capacity to 140,000 metric tons after completion in July 2027. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for SAP, a key component in diapers, especially in regions with rapidly increasing populations. Although the expansion will not affect the current fiscal year’s business results, it is expected to contribute to future profitability from fiscal year 2027 onwards.
