Nippon Sheet Glass Company, facing weak demand in the European glass market, will halt production at one of its German float glass lines from January 2025, affecting over 100 employees and incurring an exceptional cost of JPY 1.7 billion. Despite the downturn, the company remains optimistic about the market’s long-term recovery, while the final decision on restarting the line remains undecided. The financial impact of this measure will be included in the Group’s full-year forecast post-review.
