Nippon Electric Advances Towards Carbon Neutrality

Nippon Electric Glass Co (JP:5214) has released an update.

Nippon Electric Glass’s Malaysian subsidiary has signed a 20-year Virtual Power Purchase Agreement to procure the environmental value of solar-generated electricity, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by about 41,000 tons annually in line with their carbon neutrality goals by 2050. The solar plant in Kedah is expected to start operations by December 2025, contributing to the group’s initiative to expand the use of renewable energy and develop technologies to mitigate global warming.
