Nippon Carbide Industries Co., Inc. has identified signs of impairment in certain non-current assets used in its Electronics and Functional Products Business, primarily buildings and related assets located in Namerikawa City, Toyama Prefecture and other sites. Following an assessment under Japan’s accounting standards for impairment of non-current assets, the company’s board resolved to recognize these impairments in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.
As a result, the company will book extraordinary losses of 600 million yen on a non-consolidated basis and 549 million yen on a consolidated basis for the fiscal year. Management stated that these impairment charges have already been incorporated into the latest full-year results and will not affect previously announced earnings forecasts, suggesting that while asset values are being written down, the company’s short-term performance outlook and guidance to stakeholders remain unchanged.
