The latest update is out from Nexus Uranium ( (TSE:NEXU) ).
Nexus Uranium Corp. has appointed seasoned in-situ recovery uranium permitting specialist Mark Hollenbeck to its advisory board as it advances its U.S. project portfolio. Hollenbeck, a former mayor of Edgemont and longtime project manager of enCore Energy’s Dewey-Burdock uranium project, brings three decades of engineering, regulatory and community engagement experience to strengthen Nexus’s permitting and ESG strategy.
The South Dakota Board of Minerals and Environment has set a May 18-22, 2026 hearing on Nexus’s uranium exploration permit application for its Chord Project, the final state regulatory step before drilling can begin. With a fully funded maiden drill program planned for summer 2026, subject to permit approval, the company is positioning Chord—located near Dewey-Burdock—as a potential contributor to secure domestic uranium supply amid heightened demand.
